Subsea UK commissioned a large-scale portable aquarium to highlight subsea technologies and has used it at a number of events since its ‘Energise your Future’ debut in June 2008.

Subsea aquatheatre ‘Project Engineer’, Liam Macintyre of Subsea 7, said: “Our aim is to demonstrate the fun element of subsea engineering whilst providing direct links to real-time technology. Industry support from companies such as Balmoral means actual items of subsea equipment are replicated in the tank.

“Incorporating bubble currents, pipes and other obstacles the subsea aquatheatre is not just a stunning experience but also an educational tool that provides a window into our sector and the career opportunities available.”
