As part of the Block 17 Angola project, a requirement arose to secure a number of small bore hydraulic lines and control cables to a series of spool pipes.

Conventional solutions did not suit the routing of these lines due to the various angles of approach and departure. BOE was challenged with designing and developing a flexible support tray to resolve this problem.

The result is Durachannel™ which utilises a semi-rigid polyurethane elastomer, that is injection moulded to incorporate a radial underside which interfaces with the carrier pipe and an open guide tray on the upper side to accept hoses, cables and umbilicals of various diameter.

The Durachannel sections interlock with adjacent sections to form a continuous support or, if the hoses, etc, are stiff enough, be placed at specified intervals along the proposed pipe route.
