asda portlethen fund raisersSeven work colleagues from Asda Portlethen raised the fantastic amount of £3,450 for Friends of ANCHOR by holding a host of fun and games at the supermarket and also  organising fundraisng events in the community including a quiz night and disco. Angela Grieg, Agnes Taylor, Debbie Carter, Doreen Jenkins, Sheena Stephen, Theresa Endersen and Yvonne Mortensen all put a tremendous amount of time and energy into their fundraising activities with help from Yvonne's son, Mark and the support of their General Store Manager, David Ritchie and other co-workers. The general public also helped to boost their total during the fund raising events held in store. We would like to thank the girls and Mark for all their support, also a big thank you to Asda and everyone who cotributed.

jacqui campbell friends august 2010 003A group of friends, Jacqui Campbell, Gail Harrison and Karen Stevenson have raised £18,500 for Friends of ANCHOR. They started fundraising last November 2009 in support of Jacqui's sister, Fiona, who was diagnosed with breast cancer 12 months previously. Very sadly Fiona passed away on July 15 after a brave battle. Fiona was involved in some of the fund raising activites and she was delighted the group had reached and exceeded their £10,000 target. Jacqui, Gail and Karen walked the West Highland Way earlier this year (2010) and held a variety of events including coffee mornings and bake sales. Two other friends, Alan Fergusson and Alan Flint also helped boost the total by running the Balmoral 10K race.

Friends of ANCHOR would like to thank Jacqui, Gail and Karen for their tremendous hard work and support in raising this phenomenal amount. We would also like to thank the two Alans and everyone involved in organising, and running the events as well as all the very generous sponsors and supporters.
