Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th May 2017

Aberdeen Beach Ballroom

This May we celebrated the 5th Courage on the Catwalk; an event that celebrates the beauty and bravery of women, from throughout the North-east, who have faced a cancer diagnosis- both past and present.

Once again, the model line-up was a diverse group of women from all walks of life- from Fraserburgh to Banchory and as far afield as Orkney- ranging from 20 to 77 years old. The 24 models representing 15 different cancer types including breast, colon, leukaemia and renal, who are all at varying points in their cancer journey in terms of those undergoing treatment, living with cancer and survivors of over 17 years.

The ladies took to the runway at the three shows across the weekend in front of a sell-out audience of 1,600 people across the three live shows at Aberdeen’s Beach Ballroom to raise over £123,000.

Every penny raised from Courage on the Catwalk and Brave has gone directly to Friends of ANCHOR’S biggest fundraising appeal, ‘Dream Big’ pledging £1milllion to the University of Aberdeen’s ambitious £4.5million project to attract and recruit a world class cancer research team to the North-east. This is a huge investment which will ultimately have a significant impact on the care, treatment and wellbeing provided to local cancer and haematology patients.
