Over the years, Friends of ANCHOR has provided advanced surgical and diagnostic medical equipment and technology; to go over and above what NHS can provide and support leading research in the North-east of Scotland.

Applications are invited for the funding of haematology or oncology themed research. We provide this level of support, to help grow the foundations of our knowledge of cancer and haemophilia diseases, to produce initial data and results to attract large-scale research funding, to attract and retain top clinicians and researchers to the North-east, to ultimately benefit those who go through the ANCHOR Unit.

Summary

Applications for summer research placement projects are welcomed from employees of NHS Grampian, The University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University.

Successful applicants have the opportunity to source a dedicated student to complete a haematology or oncology based research project.

This initiative equips the student with career research experience, with the aim to attract future leading medical practitioners and researchers to the fields of haematology and oncology in the North-east of Scotland.
