Carolanne's fancy dress fundraiser

rg college presentation 23 jan 2011Carolanne Bain, Cleaning Manageress, Robert Gordon's College, Aberdeen, organised a fancy dress fund raising night at Sunnybank Football Club in January. Carolanne was helped by school head janitor, Kevin Burnett and day janitor/supervisor, Claire Wetherly together they organised games, a disco, bingo, a buffet and a special raffle which raised the grand sum of £613.20. Carolanne wanted  to thank everyone who helped in particular all the Robert Gordon's College staff who contributed many of the raffle items.

Many thanks to Carolanne, Claire and Kevin for all their hard work, effort and energy which ensured their event was a huge success and to Sunnybank Football Club for hosting the fundraiser.

Champion Iron men from the Broch

broch iron gym presentation 2011William Wright and David Gray, both from Fraserburgh, organised a special Iron man competition at their local gym, Broch Iron Gym (BIG) owned by Arthur Buchan, last year during Fraserburgh's Blue Light Festival and raised £955.

William and David managed to get Scotland's strongest man, Chris Innes AKA Goose, to join in the fun and demonstrate  why he has been the strongest man in Scotland for the last four years and  also qualified to complete in Britain's strongest man 2010.

Big thanks go to William and David for organising and running the event, Arthur Buchan for sponsoring the event and everyone at the gym for their valuable support.

Champion bakers from St. Fergus

st fergus eurest services presentationJenny Hay, Nicola Cairns, Steven Patterson, Susan Park and Angie Davidson, employees of Eurest Services provide all the catering at Shell St. Fergus, they held a special event in October last year 2010 to raise funds for Friends of ANCHOR. They baked cakes then donned fancy dress and sold the cakes to the sweet-toothed Shell workers who very generously donated £671 in total.

The charity would like to thank everyone who contributed and a big thank you to the wonderful bakers for all their time, energy and effort in raising this fantastic amount.

Happy Birthday Carol

carols 40th birthday party 056A belated Happy Birthday to Carol Will from Inverurie, who celebrated a big birthday with friends and family at a party at Oldmeldrum Golf Club on 13 November 2010. Carol generously requested donations in lieu of birthday gifts and party guests contributed £265 for Friends of ANCHOR. The charity would like to thank Carol and also thanks to everyone who contributed.

Congratulations Antony & Caroline Peskett

mr  mrs peskettCaroline (nee Lees) married Antony Peskett last year and supported the charity by making a donation for Friends of ANCHOR pins and key rings which they used on their wedding day instead of traditional wedding favours. The generous couple and their wedding guests also donated a further £220, which they raised at their evening party with a game of 'heads & tails', with the winning prize dinner for two being donated by their wedding venue, Thainstone House Hotel, Inverurie.

Friends of ANCHOR would like to thank the happy couple once again and also wish them a very long and happy life together.
